Preserving the history of the Calgary Police Service

The Calgary Police Discovery Centre is entrusted with the care, conservation and cataloguing of historical records from the Calgary Police Service.

Our Calgary Police archives preserve the history of policing in Calgary through a growing collection of historical documents, photographs, negatives and other records. Some of our textual records date back to 1912, while our photographic collections provide a unique visual record of Calgary police work and the evolution of forensic investigation.

From early crime scene photography to official police documents and records from specialized units, the archives offer researchers an opportunity to explore the history of the Calgary Police Service and policing in Calgary.
