Our Story
From YouthLink to the Calgary Police Discovery Centre
After nearly three decades as YouthLink Calgary Police Interpretive Centre, we’ve evolved into something even more powerful: The Calgary Police Discovery Centre. It’s a new name and a bold step forward into a future where crime prevention, public safety, and discovery go hand-in-hand.
We’re still the same award-winning, non-profit team deeply embedded within the Calgary Police Service, passionately innovative in our approach, and wildly committed to helping communities stay safe. What’s changed is the way we tell our story, how we invite you to be a part of it, and what you’ll experience when you walk through our doors.
Safety begins with knowledge. It begins with conversations.
And sometimes, it begins with a single moment of understanding that can change a young person’s path.
Admission
Admission is FREE! The parking is FREE! However we do accept donations to help fund our innovative approach to education, expand our programs and events for students, youth, adults, families and our community.
OPERATING HOURS
Fridays & Saturdays: 10am-4pm
July & August: Tuesday -Saturday 10am-4pm
Why aren’t we open to the public during the week? From Monday to Thursday during the school year, we’re fully booked running our award-winning crime prevention programs for Calgary students!
Then summer hits and our doors swing open 5 days a week! No matter when you come, you’ll find engaging exhibits, real stories, and a chance to see Calgary policing up close.
The Calgary Police Discovery Centre is one of the city’s most accessible and community‑driven attractions, and it’s completely free to visit. Whether you’re a local looking for meaningful things to do or a traveller with a layover or spare afternoon, our location just minutes from the Calgary International Airport makes it easy to add a memorable stop to your vacation. Inside, you’ll explore hands‑on exhibits, real policing stories, and interactive experiences designed for all ages. It’s a place where curiosity, community, and discovery come together, offering an experience you won’t find anywhere else in Calgary.
